The currency in Botswana is Pula and Thebe. Pula in Setswana means ‘rain’. One Pula is made up on 100 Thebe.

Coins available are: 5t, 10t, 25t, 50t, P1, P2 and P5. Notes available are: P10, P20, P50, P100, P200.

Royal Tree Lodge


Royal Tree Lodge is a private game reserve located twenty minutes from the iconic safari town of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. The lodge is situated on a private reserve on the banks of the Thamalakane River with an abundance of wildlife including giraffe, zebra, springbok, ostrich, eland, gemsbok and kudu as well as an extensive variety of bird life.

Guests will indulge in comfort and relaxation in one of Royal Tree Lodge’s well appointed, private tented chalets or romantic thatched honeymoon suites. World class cuisine served by candlelight on the lodge’s expansive teak deck, is the perfect way to conclude a day’s safari.

At Royal Tree Lodge, it's not just about luxurious accommodation and old world hospitality. Marked walking trails invite guests to create their own adventure allowing safe, intimate interaction with wildlife. For the more adventurous, set off on a horse back safari, scenic flight over the delta, or mokoro canoe trip down the river.

Finish off the day with a warm drink around the communal fire as personal safari hosts and Royal Tree Lodge managers share life stories from over 80 years of combined safari experience.

The spacious, thatched guest area is the heart of Royal Tree Lodge. Large doors open onto a wide-angle teak deck shaded by Motsentsela trees, under which guests exchange stories, meals and drinks. Inside, relax on a plush leather sofa, enjoy a drink from the bar, and page through books on the nation's explorers and history.

During dinner, enjoy delicous meals served on the deck by candlelight and awe fellow guests by tales of the day’s adventures.














Maun Lodge


Arrive at Maun Lodge, a luxury three star hotel situated on the doorstep to the Okavango delta and relax in your air-conditioned room or at the poolside with your favourite book, overlooking the annual flowing Thamalakane River. From your warm friendly welcome to your fond farewell the staff at Maun Lodge will ensure that your holiday is off to a great start.

The hotel accommodation consists of, 6 double rooms, 20 twin rooms and 4 suites / family rooms all air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, a limited bouquet of satellite television, tea and coffee facilities, room service and laundry.

The A la Carte restaurant offers a full menu and a range of daily Chefs specials together with international and traditional cuisine. The Boma, an open air traditional bar and restaurant offers local dishes including our famous barbeque as well as a light snack menu.

The 3 deluxe riverfront suites all with private verandahs are en-suite and fully air- conditioned and comprise of: A tastefully furnished lounge area. Double bed. Full bouquet of satellite television. A fully serviced bar fridge on request. Separate bath and shower and 3 wc’s and hand wash basins. Tea & coffee facilities. Room service and laundry facilities available. The presidential suite has a king size bed and includes a fully stocked bar offering waiter or self service.

For those on a limited budget, we have 12 thatched chalets that offer excellent value for money. Our chalets are all en-suite, fully air- conditioned with tea & coffee facilities and local television, 8 of the chalets cater for families with 2 beds and a double sleeper couch. The remaining 4 have 2 beds each.. A helicopter or light aircraft flight over the Okavango Delta, Cultural Village Tour, Visit to Okavango Ceramics or Visit to the Crocodile Farm can all be arranged from here.











Thamalakane River Lodge


Thamalakane River Lodge is placed on the banks of the Thamalakane River, just 19kms from Maun, and en route to the famous Moremi Game Reserve. Character en-suite stone chalets, some with private splash pools are positioned in the shade of the riverine forest, overlooking the river. All accommodation types feature mosquito nets, ceiling fans, tea and coffee station and 2 bottles of mineral water daily.

Chalets, public areas and our swimming pool take advantage of the 180 degree view of the riverbanks lined with fluttering reeds visited by an ever changing array of water fowl and birds. It is a delightful place to come home to after a day spent exploring. The widely acclaimed restaurant serves a la carte meals from an ever changing menu. Dusk is spectacular, with the sun setting the river ablaze as is slowly dips behind the trees.

Thamalakane enjoys a wonderful location which lends itself to relaxation around the pool and on your private patios enjoying the plentiful birds and spectacular sunsets. Venturing further a-field Thamalakane is an easy 20 minute drive from Maun, with it’s shopping centres and wonderful curio shops as well as the airport.

Moremi Game Reserve is a hour and half drive away offering spectacular game viewing opportunities. The Delta is on our doorstep – a 45 minute drive will see one at the Boro Poler station where you are able to participate in a traditional Mokoro trip.


















The Old Bridge Backpackers


10 km out of Maun "the gateway to the Okavango", overlooking a hippo pool is “The old Bridge" backpackers. This is a place created with the knowledge and understanding that comes from years of experience in the backpackers trade (The owners are co-creators of "Jungle junction" and "The swamp thing").

"The Bridge" provides a comfortable base from which you can enjoy the varied amazing activities that this region has to offer. They have a camp-site for travellers with their own tents, a few of which are drive-in sites. There is one site for larger groups.

There is a dorm and tents made up as either doubles or twins. Two of the riverside tents have en-suite facilities. The kitchen opens at 7 in the morning and closes at 8:30 at night and serves good value meals for all tastes. For those who prefer to self-cater there is a convenient and fully equipped kitchen. There is a popular and sometimes festive bar set between old, weathered lead-wood logs.

Evenings are dimly lit with good music floating through the air. You will always find a fire on a cold winters night and a cosy TV lounge that may be used on request. Situated between the main building and the campsites you find open air, hot showers and flush toilets built entirely out of natural materials.

They are always kept spotlessly clean. The friendly staff, who are considered a big asset, will ensure that you have nothing but fond memories to take home with you. A variety of activities are on offer from the Backpackers on request. Mokoro trips, boat hire, basket weaving, horse trails, scenic flights & birdwatching.














Audi Camp


Audi Camp is situated at the edge of the Okavango Delta, 12Km from Maun. The Camp offers camping, tented accommodation and en suite tents. They have an a la carte restaurant, bar and pool and also cater for a wide variety of activities in and around the Okavango Delta including cultural and community based trips. Audi means “fish eagle” in Setswana, Botswana’s local language.

There are luxury en-suite tents on raised wooden decking overlooking the river and mini-meru tents with beds, lights, their own fire places and cooking area. Large dome tents with stretcher beds are also available. There are many shaded camping areas and some of the sites have power points.































Discovery Bed & Breakfast


Discovery bed and breakfast offers a traditional village environment with nine chalets, each stylishly decorated with traditional, African/Setswana patterns and very colourful. It is situated approximately 15 Km from town- centre and run by it’s Dutch owners, René and Marije, who have a wealth of knowledge about Botswana and keen to share their stories around the campfire.

The chalets are all equipped with a queen-size bed or two single beds next to each other (with mosquito net), small table and chairs, toilet and washing basin. The standard chalets have a communal shower under the stars, the luxury chalets have a shower en-suite. The rooms all have running water, light and electricity facilities. The chalets can be booked as a single or double room. The chalets, reception and shower units border a tranquil (peaceful, lovely) garden.




























Okavango River Lodge


Okavango River Lodge is in a great location, just out of Maun on the way to the Moremi National Park. Situated along the river, they offer cool thatched ensuite chalets as well as family accommodation: three double chalets, and bedded tents with a self catering kitchen. There is also a campsite along the river under the shady acacia trees. Families and children of all ages are welcome. The kitchen serves good home cooking open from 7am until 9pm. A river lodge breakfast is a must or try their notable Bunny Chow!

Activities include boat cruises & mokoro trips and they also cater for private functions such as weddings and birthdays, the banks of the river making a stunning venue.































Tshima Bush Lodge


Tshima Bush Camp is located on the Ghanzi Road only 30 Km west of Maun, Botswana's tourist capital. The property is 30 Hectares of natural bush, above the Nhabe river. The camp has four en-suite luxury tents and is managed by it’s Dutch owners. Tshima Bush Camp is a paradise for birders. The Kalahari-sand colored tents are luxurious. Each en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower and toilet. The tents are situated in such a way that they give privacy, to enable visitors to fully enjoy the natural surroundings. There are washup stations and a camp fire at each tent, which makes it perfect for a Self-catering holiday although Dinner & Lunch are available on request. Breakfast is served on the patio area outside your tent, for your privacy.

Tshima Bush Camp is fully self supporting and ecologically responsible. The lodge uses solar energy for their power supply and they purify their own drinking water. At night the planets and constellations can be enjoyed without the disturbance of city lights and sounds. Footpaths offer you the possibility of exploring the property to enjoy the bush, where you may find duiker and aardvark and a wide variety of birds. Outside the property you can enjoy the beauty of the Nhabe River and its birds while walking along the banks, where sometimes elephant from the Okavango Delta pass by.
