Chobe Safari Lodge

Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. Right on it’s doorstep are the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge therefore offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls or Caprivi.

On Botswana’s far northern border lie the Kwando, Linyanti and Chobe River systems that form a mosaic of lakes, islands, channels and floodplains. Part of this system is the Chobe National Park, renowned for its vast herds of elephant and buffalo. The Lodge offer game drives and boat cruises and these offer the opportunity to view the abundant elephant and other big game species up close, and also the possibility of an encounter with one of the large predators. Game drives depart three times a day (approximately 3 hour duration).

The Lodge’s close proximity to Victoria Falls International Airport, Livingstone International Airport and Kasane International Airport makes Chobe Safari lodge easily accessible, with daily road transfers or charter flights connecting all these airports. The lodge has recently been renovated, matching a magical lodge experience to the spectacular surroundings.

Fishing for the legendary Tigerfish and several species of Bream not only provides an exciting fishing experience, but excellent game viewing (crocodile, hippo, elephant, buffalo) and birding as well. Equipment is provided, and a knowledgeable guide is on hand for all expeditions. Fishing is done by boat positioned near banks and mid-river rocks. Equipment provided.

Full day trips to Victoria Falls - World Heritage Site, a Natural Wonder of the World & the largest curtain of falling water on the planet is offered. Guests can choose from a guided option, a day trip including activities or just a simple transfer there and back. Other activities offered are : Namibian Village Walk, Scenic Flights, Birding, Day Trips, Transfers & Local Flights.

Cresta Mowana Lodge

On the banks of the mighty Chobe River lies the luxurious four-star Cresta Mowana Safari Lodge. The Garden Lodge

The Garden Lodge in Kasane was built with the specific intention of offering personal service to a small number of guests. There are many fine lodges in the area, however most have over 100 beds, The Garden Lodge has 22. The lodge has eight bedrooms ( 4 standard, 3 family size and 1 double ), each with its own bathroom and private verandah overlooking the Chobe River.

This truly is a garden lodge. The combination of unlimited water and constant sunshine allows hibiscus, frangipani, bougainvillea, banana and paw paw to grow in profusion. Guests love the garden and the prolific birds attracted to the flowers and fruits.

The Lodge activities revolve around game viewing by vehicle and boat into Chobe National Park. Chobe is a hot, dry region and for most of the year the wildlife is dependent on the river for water, making for truly spectacular game drives and boat cruises. Elephants are seen in the hundreds and buffalo in the thousands.

Lions are an almost daily sighting, as are impala, sable antelope, giraffe, warthog and numerous other species. Traditionally, early morning game drives and late afternoon boat cruises are safari routine, The Garden Lodge is more flexible.

Elephant Valley Lodge

The Chobe region is home to the largest population of wild elephant in the world. This is estimated to be approximately 120,000 individuals. Their sometimes daily passage takes them from Zimbabwe through the Chobe and on into Namibia before returning. Elephant Valley Lodge lies along one of these routes and is situated in the Kasane Forest, which is adjacent to the Chobe National Park.

Open guest areas, a secluded hide, refreshing swimming pool and 20 ‘meru styled’ tents complete the lodge which lies beneath a forest of sturdy knob thorns. It is within these tree tops that the largest colony of white back vultures occurs.

The lodge is unique for several reasons and amongst these is the fact that it is situated within a game rich reserve affording the guests wonderful sightings between our open landrover safaris into the Chobe and boat cruises along the Chobe River.

Kubu Lodge

Kubu Lodge is a small, privately owned and run lodge on the banks of Botswana’s Chobe River. The elevated thatched chalets, shaded beneath giant ebony and wild fig trees, overlook a spreading lawn to the river's edge. An idyllic setting.

The restaurant is renowned for its excellent cuisine that is a fusion of European and African styles. Enjoy dinner under the stars on the restaurant deck or the romance of the private boma for special occasions. Other facilities include a bar, a gift shop, a short nature walk, a private secluded swimming pool, and a health/beauty salon.

The relaxed and convivial atmosphere of the bar is an ideal location to swop African stories and enjoy that icy cocktail or award winning Cape wine. For those who enjoy being pampered, the KwaManingi health and beauty salon provides professional massage and beauty treatments.

On the doorstep of the world famous Chobe National Park it is easy to enjoy an exceptional wildlife experience by open 4x4 vehicle or by boat. The mighty Victoria Falls is a mere hour away and day trips can be arranged. Chobe Savannah Lodge

Situated in the Eastern Caprivi of Namibia, a peninsula on the northern bank of the Chobe River, Chobe Savanna Lodge overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park’s Puku Flats. The lodge offers guests a Namibian hideaway for those looking for an exclusive Chobe River experience in an area renowned for its diverse and prolific wildlife.

The Chobe River is home to large herds of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as dense concentrations of other wildlife - including the rare puku antelope - which come down to the river’s edge to drink, graze and hunt. Chobe Savanna Lodge is set in a classic African Savanna environment with stunning, sweeping vistas surrounding the lodge. The focal point of the relaxed and informal lodge is a thatched open-sided main building which features a 270 degree view over the Chobe River and beyond to the Chobe National Park.

Facilities include a swimming pool and an open boma area on the banks of the Chobe River. A private and secluded safari experience is guaranteed as Chobe Savanna Lodge accommodates only 24 guests in beautifully furnished thatched chalets, all with private decks, an integrated bedroom and lounge area plus en-suite facilities.

All chalets are air-conditioned and have complimentary in-room mini bars. Although guests are welcome to join in the scheduled game activities, Chobe Savanna Lodge is also a wonderful venue where guests can simply take time out to watch the world go by in one of the most spectacular settings imaginable.

As a water-based lodge, guests have a choice of aquatic activities. River excursions in small, easily manoeuvrable boats are ideal for close encounters with the abundant wildlife which visits the river’s edge. Angling is also a popular pastime, with our catch-and-release fishing trips for bream or tiger fish proving to be a firm favourite with guests of all ages and nationalities. Guests hoping to experience some of the local Namibian traditions will enjoy a cultural village visit to one of the surrounding communities, where guests can observe the deep-rooted heritage of the local population.

Camp Kuzuma

Camp Kuzuma is a private and exclusive safari lodge in the Chobe region. Situated 65km outside of Kasane (45 minutes from Kasane Airport and 13km from the Chobe National Park gate) in the pristine Kuzuma Forest Reserve the lodge offers a unique Botswana experience not found in this area. Camp Kuzuma is located overlooking a regularly frequented waterhole and open plains of the Kuzuma Pans. With over 4000 square kilometres of private traversing concession Camp Kuzuma offers an incredible wilderness experience seldom found in Africa. The camp is reminiscent of the 1800 era when the great explorers such as Henry Stanley and David Livingstone explored the plain of Africa and Victoria Falls-Mosi oa Tunya (The Smoke that Thunders). The 5 Luxury Tented suites, up to 49 sq metres, offers luxury and comfort. All suites are tastefully decorated with the feel of an 1800 style camp. The luxury suites' bathrooms offer a high back Victoria baths, double basins, double inside showers and outside showers. The entire lodge is elevated with wooden walkways that link the luxury suites to the main area.

While staying at Camp Kuzuma take the chance to experience their well-appointed spa with a variety of treatments to pamper yourself while in the bush. Use the lodge as a base to explore the surrounding areas such as the famous Chobe reserve, take a cruise on the Chobe River or visit the natural wonder of the Victoria Falls.

Game activities offered at the lodge consist of game drives, night drives and guided bushwalk. All these activities are included into the rate at Camp Kuzuma.

Kings Pool Camp

Kings Pool Camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a vast private concession in the northern part of Botswana, on the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The accommodation here is luxurious, the wildlife spectacular. Kings Pool Camp has nine well-appointed tents of canvas and thatch. Each has a large bedroom area, lounge, private plunge pool and 'sala'. The spacious en-suite bathrooms are tiled with double showers and hand-basins - as well as an outdoor shower for those who wish to shower close to nature! The lounge, dining room and pub areas are on expansive raised decks. There is also a communal pool and an open-air 'kgotla' for dining under the stars.

Kings Pool Camp overlooks the Linyanti River and the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon, apparently named after a Scandinavian monarch who spent a number of nights camping out on its banks - long before any camp was built here. Apart from the simple appeal of watching the elephants at the water's edge from the luxury of the raised decks of Kings Pool Camp, spectacular wildlife viewing is available on day and night game drives and walks. Allowing for water levels, seasonal barge cruises along the Linyanti River are also on offer. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months. Kings Pool Camp is famed not just for the sights, but also the sounds of wildlife all around. For this reason the camp has two hides. One is located at the western end of the camp where one can spend one's entire siesta time watching game come down to drink. The other is an original underground hide, with the water at eye-level. Seeing massive elephant feet and trunks almost within touching distance while safely inside is an extraordinary experience.

Kwalape Lodge

Situated between Kazungula and Kasane, Kwalape Safari Lodge offers the perfect base to discover the wonders of Chobe National Park with its vast elephant herds and wildlife populations. Kwalape is only an hour away from the magnificent Victoria Falls and 1 km away from where the four great African countries meet (Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana) making Kwalape an ideal location to explore from. Kwalape means ‘at home’ in Setswana. Constructed of canvas, wood and thatch, in harmony with its luscious and naturally landscaped surroundings, Kwalape Lodge comprises of 12 chalets, each with spacious living areas and en-suite bathroom facilities and a private veranda. 12 safari tents and camping facilities for overland and private tours.

The main restaurant and bar are thatched and nestled into the surrounding bush with the restaurant bar offering a stunning elevated deck, ideal for sun downers and sharing the day’s experience with other guests. Other facilities include a swimming pool, conference facility and Boma for starlight meals.

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero borders Chobe National Park, home to the world's largest remaining population of elephants. This is an incredibly luxurious lodge with just 15 guest cottages, as well as the only full spa on the Botswana safari circuit. A great deal of thought has gone into making Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero a luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush, with all of the facilities of a larger resort.

Guests can relax in the split-level swimming pool, unwind with a pampering session in the spa or enjoy the gourmet food that the lodge has become known for. The main area commands fabulous views over the Chobe River which borders Chobe National Park to the north. As well as the elephants for which the park is famous, there are also huge herds of buffalo living in the towering teak forests that are characteristic of the area. Each room has two showers - one inside and one outside. The freestanding tubs in the bathrooms are big and comfortable. Each cottage has its own private garden where guests can sip cocktails after a day of game viewing, or why not enjoy your very own private dinner served under the African sky.

The full-service spa offers a range of treatments and rituals of the highest quality to relax, restore and revitalise guests. Authentic African design has been integrated with, and inspired by, the abundance of nature that surrounds the lodge. Spa facilities include an indoor spa bath, Vichy showers, hydrotherapy, plunge pool, relaxation area and private treatment rooms - one of which is elevated in the treetops.

Selinda Camp

Selinda Camp overlooks the Selinda Spillway, a unique seasonal waterway which links the Okavango Delta with the game-rich floodplains of the Linyanti Swamps. Selinda Camp's nine spacious, luxury tents are erected under cool thatch canopies, with all units having panoramic views across palm-studded floodplains. Each tent has en-suite facilities, a stone bath being the highlight. The bathroom is uniquely "open air" with lots of natural light, yet is screened and virtually insect-proof. The tents are spacious and beautifully appointed with furniture and features that have been collected from around Africa. Four-poster mosquito nets and overhead fans are standard at Selinda Camp.

The main area comprises a series of expansive decks that invite guests to simply sit and soak up the spectacular views and wildlife surrounding Selinda Camp. The design of the main area is such that there is never a barrier to these breathtaking views of the Selinda Spillway: whether guests are relaxing in the lounge, having brunch under the cool shade of the uniquely designed thatched roof, or sampling the fine cuisine of a three-course dinner on the open "star deck". Set apart from the main area is the photo/art gallery built above a temperature-controlled wine cellar and curio shop. Guests can also enjoy a small plunge pool and the traditional campfire as well as massages from the resident therapist. Daily activities at Selinda Camp revolve around morning, afternoon and night game drives with experienced, professional guides in custom-built 4x4 Land Cruisers. Short walks from camp accompanied by a guide are encouraged to get to know some of Selinda's smaller creatures.

Senyati Self-catering Lodge

Senyati Safari Camp is situated in the Lesoma Valley off the Kasane forest reserve which is adjacent to the Chobe National Park. They are located on the Nata to Kazungula main road, 8km before Kazungula and 18km from Kasane. Being close to the Chobe National park , they offer the perfect accommodation close to Kasane.

Senyati Safari Camp offers accommodation in 9 self-contained thatched campsites complete with their own ablution block and 220v socket outlet. Ablutions are available. For those that do not enjoy camping, they offer 3 fully equipped self catering chalets (cutlery, 2 plate stove, kettle etc) with chalets sleeping up to 4 guests. The campsites and chalets’ unique position ensures spectacular game viewing and superb photographic opportunities.

The Old House

The Old House is a small family owned and run guesthouse situated in Kasane, overlooking the Chobe River. onviniently located within walking distance to all shops and a 10 minute boat ride to the entrance of the Chobe National Park. The Old House has a total of 9 rooms with 3 twin rooms, 3 double room, 2 family rooms and a loft room. All our rooms are air conditioned with en-suite facilities and mosquito nets. The Bar & Restaurant have a friendly atmosphere, great pub, meals, ice cold beers and delicious pizzas. Wireless internet is available for guests & a plunge pool for those hot days.

Activites offered include Game Drives, Fishing Trips, Canoeing Trips, Sunset Cruises and Victoria Falls Trips. Victoria Falls is 80km away and a trip to see the magnificent falls is definitely worthwhile when in the area. And for those adrenaline junkies their white water rafting, bungi jumping, gorge swing and many more activities to get that adrenaline pumping.

Thebe River Lodge

Thebe River Safaris is ideally situated for visitors to the Chobe Park and Chobe River area. The lodge and camp overlook the placid Chobe River and echo the surrounding bush with a rustic design. It is 12km from the Kazungula border and 5km from the Chobe Park entrance. The restaurant and bar provide welcome food and drinks and visitors can enjoy the sparkling swimming pool. Thebe River Safaris lodge offers a family room and twin rooms, air conditioned. All rooms are en-suite and have a shower with ample near-instant piping hot water. All beds are mosquito netted ensuring a peaceful nights sleep. Thebe River Safaris camp offers spacious camping areas with covered cooking areas. Ablutions are shared and we have 2 large communal ablution blocks with showers with loads of piping hot water, basins, mirrors and toilets.

Thebe River Safaris was started in 1994 by Jan van Wyk with a single land cruiser. The business has expanded over the intervening years into a bustling lodge and camp. Jan's original idea of sharing the wonders of the Chobe Park with visitors has continued with Game Drives, Cruises and Mobile Safaris taking guests into the true African wilderness. The operation now includes Jan's sons Jannie and Louie and daughter Franci.
